2009 National Foursquare Convention

Theme: THE UNCHANGING CHRIST And the UNSHAKABLE KINGDOM!
Venue: Baguio Convention Center
Date: April 14-17, 2009

To all Church Leaders, Members and Friends of the Foursquare Church:

We’re still reminiscing the last convention we had in Dagupan City last year, and now we are again looking forward to another great convention next year. We are supposed to hold our convention in Cebu City next year, but due to high cost of rental of the convention center, we are compelled to go some place else.

We are going to Baguio City, and I want to invite you: April 14-17, 2009.

The 2009 Convention of the CFGP is convening at Baguio Convention Center, Governor Pack Road, Baguio City. This venue has convenient hotel and pension house accommodations that are virtually adjacent. Vibrant worship will be led by our own local churches’ worship leaders and singers. We have invited Bishop Fred Magbanua, a long-time friend of Foursquare and a well-loved minister by different churches/organization. We will also have other Foursquare teachers from our own Foursquare family in the Philippines.

There is so much reason for expectancy for we are gathering “unto Jesus”, under the theme: “The Unchanging Christ and the Unshakeable Kingdom.” Let us start to pray and plan to attend next year’s convention, with an urgent passion for God to move among us!

Let us believe God for His provisions!

Be meeting you in Baguio City in 2009!

Prayer Guidelines for the 2008 National Day of Prayer and Fasting

A. PERSONAL

Psalm 51:10 “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”

1. Repentance

a) Repent of any unrighteous and wicked practices in our lives. If any of His sons and daughters is practicing unrighteousness, the Lord will not spare the rod on them (Ezek. 9:6; Amos 3:2)
b) We have failed as real Christians to be the effective preservative salt of the earth, and the illuminating light of the world that Jesus calls us to be in Matthew 5:13-16. Let us repent from tolerance of sin through our apathy, fatalism and lack of righteous indignation.
c) Repent of prayerlessness.

2. Seeking God

Psalm 119:10-11 “I seek you with all my heart, do not let me stray from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.”

a) A divine induced hunger from the presence of God in our lives. May each of us persistently seek God’s presence more than His blessings. May this crisis draw us near to God.
b) Truth in the inwards parts (Ps. 51:6). A desire for the holiness of God to manifest in our life.
c) For God to create a deep hunger and thirst for righteousness in our life.
d) For the fear of the Lord to be always in our hearts.
e) Revival in our lives.

3. Family

a) For God to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children and the hearts of their children to their fathers.
b) Let us ask God to establish each father in His truth, grace and in righteousness.
c) For our families, most especially the men, to be delivered from the spirits of gambling, drunkenness, drug addiction and immorality. Declare god’s vengeance on the spirits that are controlling the minds of Filipino males.
d) Family altar of worship be restored.
e) Husband-wife relationships
f) Unsaved loved ones
g) Family difficulties/challenges
h) For our children and their future
i) Thanksgiving for God’s faithfulness
